Once again it's Con month in April, we're going to get it started with a trip to the Dallas Comic Con at the Richardson Civic Center on April 4-6, 2008. We're leaving on Friday afternoon for the Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West, where we will start a full weekend of Star Wars. Anyone tagging along on this trip will witness a Star Wars first, Jeremy Bulloch will be the first Star Wars Actor to receive a Offical 501st Costume (Boba Fett, of course). But there will be plenty of other Sci-fi actors, Artists, and Dealers to entertain everyone. Check the forum for further details.

The following weekend we are planning a Red Stick Rebellion first, we have reserved our first fan table at CoastCon in MS Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. (April 11-13, 2008) This will also be our first visit to CoastCon and we will be joined by the 501st Bast Alpha Squad and the Mississippi Mandelorians. We are looking forward to a great weekend that's close enough to Baton Rouge for everyone to attend and enjoy. We are going to try and arrange a carpool on Saturday and Sunday, if you are interested in joining us one of those days let us know on the CoastCon thread on the forum.

I hope everyone enjoyed the panel last month on Unproduced Star Wars Toys. We've got another great video lined up for March. It's our second in the collecting series this year, "Star Wars Collecting Clubs". I have included a brief summary of the video below, I think everyone will find it informative and interesting. I know when Wayne and I watched it at Celebration last year we found it followed the same guidelines that we built Red Stick Rebellion with.

Star Wars Collecting Clubs

Collecting by nature is a solitary and competitive pursuit. However, there are surprising benefits to a more cooperative approach. One effective way to improve your collecting success is by networking with other collectors. Local collecting clubs offer numerous benefits: a network of shoppers to help search for your most-wanted items; the opportunity to socialize with other collectors; and a group of knowledgeable collectors to share their expertise and advice on your purchasing decisions. But what can you do if your area doesn't have a collecting club? You create one! We'll tell you how to do it.

Also in March, we have our second Red Stick Rebellion Mystery Collectable. This Mystery Collectable will be presented by Jonathan, as many of you already know Jonathan is a vintage collector. I look forward to seeing a treasured piece of his collection, so come check it out!

March is turning out to be a busy meeting, we have the Dallas Comic Con trip coming up in April. Some of our members can remember taking the trip last year. We had a great time with plenty of Star Wars collectables, actors, and panels. I look forward to these trips every year! We hope everyone will consider attending, full details will be discussed at the meeting.
