This month's meeting is being pushed back a week to February 20th, 2010. Appearing one time only in February, Phenix will be giving away his trade secrets on making your own Personal Custom Star Wars Carded Figures. In-depth tips from the master with never before seen photos and personal customs from his own collection. So "Join the Rebellion", on February 20th as we explore Customizing, New Website Updates on recording your personal collection, and see the Mystery Collectable revealed. With plenty of Star Wars collectables available from our members there's plenty for everyone to enjoy. So everyone enjoy Mardi Gras and we'll see you on the 20th at the Jones Creek Library.

We are glad to announce that Phenix (TD 5491) will be taking the position of Meeting Coordinator this year. The first thing he wants to do is bring back the Mystery Collectible to the meetings - so now we need you to submit your collectible (or collectibles) so you can bring it in and tell its story to the group at one of our meetings. In the "Comments / Suggestions / Problems" forum, there's a new "Mystery Collectible Submissions" forum for you to submit your collectible, and instructions are also in that forum as to how to submit it. That forum is a moderated one - so don't worry, only the council can see the posts in it.

Also, we need ideas for meetings that you want to see this year. A thread has been created same forum above called "Meeting suggestions and ideas for 2010" for you to submit your ideas (it doesn't have to be something you want to present, although that would help). Let us know what you want to see next year!

Our third annual toy drive is underway and we had a great response out at the O'Neal Walmart this past Saturday. We had over three barrels worth of toys donated and we're looking forward to the drive this Saturday (11/21) at the Walker Walmart. All the toys collected will once again be donated to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge - and we'll be there to hand things out again this year. Even though we had to cancel the second toy drive due to weather, we still had a good number of toys dontated at our first drive and collected over 145 items to donate to Cancer Services this year! Once again, we also got to participate in their party and help distribute to the kids while posing for loads of pictures. We'd like to thank everyone that helped with this event - especially all those who donated! Pictures are now posted in the Picture Gallery section. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

October is coming and that means that we are getting ready for our Third Annual Costume Fan Day event on October 10th from 12pm - 6pm at the Jones Creek Library (6222 Jones Creek Road, Baton Rouge, LA). Each year this event continues to grow and this year we will have numerous events and contests going on for the kids including a costume contest, LEGO building contests, trivia, arts & crafts, a Jedi Academy and more. We will once again be working with the 501st Bast Alpha Garrison and Rebel Legion so many of your favorite Star Wars characters will be there in costume! We hope to see everyone at the library so be sure and come by and have fun with us while we celebrate the new second season of The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network!
