Just a heads up for all you Sideshow 12" Collectors. The preorder is up for the 12" Vader, Stormtrooper, and Rebel Fleet Trooper. There's no edition number on any of them, they usually apply them a few days after the preorder has been up.

 Our friends at Toys R Us have partnered with LFL to give us  a Galactic Star Wars Sweepstakes. The contest started on July 17 and runs through November 18, 2008. They are giving away 4 Grand Prize Life Sized Clone Wars Statues and several First Prize Toy packages.

It's that time of year again, and we like to make sure that we send our best birthday wishes to our co-founder Tommy Chiasson! Happy Birthday man, may the force be with you!!

This Summer started out HOT with Star Wars Weekends and continues to sizzle with the upcoming Clone Wars Movie in August. But before we get there we have a little more ground left to cover, so lets start with this coming weekend.

 

July 12, 2008 Red Stick Rebellion Meeting (Saturday @ Jones Creek Library)

 

This will be the cornerstone of our schedule for July & August. We will be presenting a behind the scenes look at the upcoming Clone Wars movie, Wayne and I have been working to put together this special presentation of Scenes, interviews, and special footage for everyones viewing pleasure. Not to downplay our New Patch Design presentation, last month we asked everyone to brainstorm for ideas for our new logo patch. So jot down any good ideas you have, draw your own design, or just come to help put everything together for an awsome patch! Of course, we will continue the mystery collectables presentation with Trey who will bring his favorite or unique collectable for our viewing. We will also be planning for Babel Con, so see you on Saturday!

 

 

July 26, 2008 Toys R Us Clone Wars Midnight Toy Madness (Toys R Us - Baton Rouge)

 

Wayne has contacted the management with Toys R Us in Baton Rouge to see if they plan on running the Midnight Madness with the Clone Wars Toy Release. He asked if they would like to have us participate in costume for the event, they checked with the corporate office, it was approved and they are extremely excited to have us for the MADNESS. We will be posting upcoming information on the thread in the forums.

 

We look forward to seeing everyone who will be able to attend these events in July.

 

The Staff of Red Stick Rebellion

The web site has been updated with a large set of changes. Many of these changes will be run though in more detail later on (with tutorials and more to help with the transition).

The new "Inventory Databank", which is currently in beta, is a cooperative effort with the BastCastle.com site. This database has always been used by the Red Stick Rebellion site for Scouting Reports, but because of it's original design - it was very limited in its capabilities. The new database has been rebuilt from scratch to allow for much more functionality (more on this in the future) - the most immediate impact of this change though is the Scouting Reports.

The Scouting Reports have also undergone a complete overhaul, because of this - all the old Scouting Reports have been removed. The newer Scouting Reports allow for you to add any item that exists in the database (not just a specific line - Saga, or TAC, for example) - plus more things will be availble in the future because of the change of how the Scouting Reports are stored (also more on that in the future).

 

Also, the "Other Links" section has been updated to allow for RSS feeds for sites supporting them (those of you with news readers will know what these are) - plus for sites that do not support them, we can internally generate them so you can get the latest news from those sites as well!

 

As I mentioned, all of this is in beta - so there are bugs and problems that will come up. If you run in to them - be sure and let me know by sending an email to webmaster@redstickrebellion.com. So please be sure to browse the new Inventory Databank, and post those Scouting Reports as new stuff is beginning to hit the shelves (and gas is expensive - so help yourself and everyone else by telling them what you see and where if it's on your way)!
