This year, Lake Charles followed suit with New Orleans and had it's first sci-fi convention for the area. Although we were only able to make it as a group on Saturday, the first day was pretty busy and seems to be a good indicator that the convention will continue to grow. At the convention, we also has our first raffle where we gave away a figure every hour and had a grand prize of one of the new Target exclusive Sarlacc Pit battle packs. We were also fortunate enough that Richard Hatch, the guest for the convention, was kind enought to donate a signed print to be another prize for the raffle. In the end, it raised $101 that will go to our Costume Fan Days event later this year so thank you to Mr. Hatch and everyone else who stopped by and dontated to the raffle!
