Toy Drive - Day 2
After a successful first Toy Drive, we headed back out to the Walmart on O'Neal Lane in Baton Rouge on November 27th, 2010 for our second Toy Drive. After pretty much matching what we did last year at the first toy drive we were excited to be back out - especially after being on WAFB Channel 9's morning show to promote it the previous Monday. To say the response was incredible would be an understatement! We had quite a lot of people who said they came from a pretty good distance away to see us and donate - some from out towards Mandeville and beyond! On top of that, not only did we have a pretty steady steam of donations, but we also had many people who dontated multiple items - one family even dontated an entire buggy full of donations! The outpouring of generocity was amazing and I must say on behalf of everyone who was there - thank you to everyone who donated this year, you are all amazing!

We'd also like to thank:

  • Jeff, David, John, Chris and Melanie for building the frame for the banner
  • Cancer Services for bringing bottled water
  • Sherri with the O'Neal Walmart

  • Phenix for taking pictures (especially the one of himself ;) )
  • Everyone who came in costume
  • And, once again, everyone who donated today!


Update:Today alone we got just a few items shy of 200 donations! Altogether, that puts us at 345 items that were donated this year - an amazing number!
